PIE&G is a not-for-profit cooperative, providing service to approximately 33,800 electric meters and 13,500 natural gas meters in nine counties of northeast Michigan. PIE&G Connect, a division of PIE&G, was formed in December 2020, to implement a fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) network to PIE&G members receiving electric service, leveraging PIE&G’s existing electric distribution system. Network design and construction are now complete, and subscriber service will be offered starting in the spring of 2022 for areas in Phase 1 of the build plan. PIE&G is committed to enabling members to realize the economic, educational and community benefits of reliable, affordable world-class internet service. The Co-op’s multi-year deployment will encompass 3,220 miles of fiber, offering access to FTTH broadband throughout its entire territory.
